Digicel St. Lucia Back To School Promotion - Terms & Conditions

The “Back to School Promotion” (the “Promotion”) frequently asked Questions (“FAQ”) and Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and govern your participation in the Promotion for chances to win certain prizes in the Back-to-School Promotion. You should read these FAQs and Terms and conditions carefully before participating in the Promotion.

“We” or “us” means Digicel, References to “we”, “our” and “us” in these Terms also includes our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) from time to time.

“I” or “You” means the person accessing or using the text to participate in the Promotion (and “my” and “your” shall have the same meaning).

If you do not agree to or accept any of these Terms and conditions and are under the age of eighteen (18) years of age, you should stop participating in the Promotion immediately.

 

  • What is the “Back to School Promotion”?
    • The “Back to School Promotion” gives all Digicel Prepaid, Postpaid Consumer and Digicel Home Internet customers chances to be 1 of 50 lucky winners to be rewarded with prizes for back to school. Customers will be automatically entered into weekly draws based on transactions performed, example: plan activations, bill payment and Fibre internet sign ups.

 

  • What is the promotional period?
    • The promotion is valid from August 19th, 2024 to September 20th, 2024.
  • Who is eligible to enter the Promotion (the “Eligible Customers”)?
    • In order to be eligible for the Promotion, you must be an active Digicel Home internet, Digicel prepaid and/or Digicel Postpaid customer.

Present & past (less 12 months) Digicel employees, dealer principals or employees of any of our affiliated companies, advertising, competition and public relations agencies, dealers, distributors and their immediate family members are not eligible for entry are EXCLUDED from participating in this promotion. For these purposes immediate family members are spouses, parents, siblings and children.

  • How does a customer participate in the Promotion?

A customer who matches the above criteria may participate in this promotion by completing any one of the activities listed below within the promotional period:

 

  1. Switch to Digicel network and receive a complimentary 30-Day Ultra plan and 12 months discount.
  2. Buy a new Prepaid SIM which will cost $25 in the promotional period and receive complimentary 5-Day Ultra plan.
  3. Buy a Visitor SIM which will cost $81 during the promotional period and receive complimentary10-Day Ultra plan.
  4. All prepaid customers who activate an eligible 5 -Day Ultra bundle or higher.
  5. Upgrade from a Prepaid to a Postpaid Prime bundle and enjoy a 20% discount off subscription fee for 3 months after the date of the upgrade.
  6. Postpaid customers (excluding corporate accounts) who are active on or activates an eligible Prime bundle or pays their bill in full & on time.
  7. New sign ups to Home Fibre Internet services.
  8. Pay your home fibre internet bill in full & on time.

 

  • Will customers be notified when to participate in Promotion?

Yes, upon the commencement of promotion, customers will be notified via the following:

    • SMS push
    • Social Media posts
    • Radio

 

  • How do customers know when they’ve qualified?
    • Customers will be notified via an SMS once an eligible bundle is activated.

  • Congrats! You're now entered for a chance to be 1 of 50 winners in our Back to School promotion because you bought an Ultra bundle or paid your bill! Keep buying for more chances to win!
  • Is there a limit to the number of weekly entries customers can have?
    • No, there is no limit.

 

  • What are the weekly prizes?
    • 20 Sprayground backpacks
    • 10 $500 vouchers for Massy Stores
    • 10 $500 vouchers for Taxi Boutique
    • 10 $500 vouchers for M&C

 

  • When will the draws occur?
    • Weekly draws will occur every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday starting August 26 2024 at the Digicel office located at Massade, Gros – Islet or at Digicel store Castries Boulevard, Vieux Fort,St. Lucia.
    • All eligible participants will be entered into the daily draws, a randomizer application will be used to select the winners.

  • Is there a cut off time for weekly draw entries to be received?
    •  Yes. Qualifying entrants into the weekly draw must be received by 11:59:59 pm on Sundays.

 

  • If I was contacted and won where do I collect the prize?
    • Winners will be able to collect their prize at Digicel head office, Massade, Gros – Islet or at Digicel store Castries Boulevard, St. Lucia.
  • What do I need to know about collecting my prize if I am a winner? 
    1. If you win, a Digicel representative will contact you by telephone.
    2. A maximum of three (3) attempts will be made to call you within a period of twenty-four (24) hours.
    3. During the telephone call, our Digicel Representative will advise you where and how to redeem your prize.
    4. You will be required to provide a government-issued identification in the form of a Passport, Driver's License or National Identification Card.
    5. If the winner is unable to come in to collect the prize, an authorized candidate can collect on their behalf.

 

You agree that if you are a winner, you will permit photographs of you to be taken and for your image, likeness and name (your “Likeness”) to be used for public relations and marketing purposes free of cost, including the publishing of your Likeness on social media, mainstream media and other platforms that we may choose. If you refuse to do so, you acknowledge that this will result in forfeiture of your right to claim the prize

 

  • If I was contacted and have won, how long do I have to collect my prize?
    •  Customers have a maximum of fourteen (14) business days to collect their ticket. Digicel will retain any prize not collected within the stipulated period and reserve the right to make the same prize available to another participant in the same promotion or to the winner of another promotion.

 

  • What do I need in order to claim the prize?
    • You are required to provide a valid government issued id (passport, driver’s licence or voter’s id) for direct transfer within 14 days once contacted. For person requesting a cheque, a valid government issued id (passport, driver’s licence or voter’s id) is required. 
    • Minors (under 18) winning must provide details for parents/guardians in order to claim prizes. Parents/guardians should present (via email) a valid national government ID as well as they should present the child’s ID. In the case, the child does not have a valid national government ID then a birth certificate or student ID will be acceptable via email.

 

 

Additional Terms and Conditions

  1. This Promotion is offered for your personal use and not for commercial use and you agree not to sell any rewards redeemed through this Promotion.
  2. Digicel gives no warranty or guarantee that its network or services shall be continuous, or will be free from faults. Digicel will, however, use its best endeavours to ensure its network and services are reasonably fault free, and that service is reasonably uninterrupted.
  3. We reserve the right to disqualify you or terminate this offer if the Promotion is being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to selling or attempts to sell the prizes, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of our services.
  4. You are solely responsible for all associated fees and costs incurred by you for redemption of prizes and for connectivity in relation to your use of the raffle tickets. Be reminded that once roaming, you will not be able to use any data from your local prepaid or select post-paid plans.
  5. The selected winners must have complied with these Terms and Conditions to enter and be on an active, qualifying contract with no accounts held with Digicel being in arrears to be eligible to win the prizes.
  6. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily), this Promotion being offered to you.
  7. If a prize is unavailable, we may, substitute the prize with an alternative prize to the equal value and/or specification where applicable.
  8. Prizes (if other than cash prizes) are not exchangeable and are not redeemable for cash.
  9. We reserve the right to, at any time, with or without notice, vary or cancel the terms and conditions of this Promotion. In the event of us giving notice to you of any such changes to or cancellation of the Promotion, it shall suffice for us to give you notice via messages to your handset/device or to post such notification on the Digicel website or the App. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notifications
  10. Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely for the purposes of this promotion by Digicel and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion on behalf of the Digicel and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose without the individual’s prior consent. By entering this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data by Digicel and/or any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion for the purposes of administration of the promotion (including publishing your full name and county and/or disclosing it to third parties on request if you are the winner) and any other purposes to which you have consented.   11. Winners may be required to take part in related publicity, including (without limitation) publication of the name and image of a promotion winner along with their winning entry via Digicel’s website, social media and other press and media channels. No additional payment will be given for this. Refusal to participate will result in forfeiture of the prize.
  12. In addition to these Terms and Conditions, the Customer remains bound by any other terms and conditions of use of any of Digicel’s other services including the general Terms and Conditions governing Digicel’s Data Services and Digicel Telephone Services.
  13. In the event the account of a Customer who is eligible to win any of the prizes is the subject of a billing dispute in relation to the Competition as a result of fraud, erroneous charging, other technical problem that corrupts the administration, Digicel reserve the right to withhold the prize, terminate, cancel, suspend and/or modify the Competition until the disputed amount (and related charges) have been investigated.
