These Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”) and Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and govern your participation in the Promotion for a chance to win the prizes. You should read these FAQs and Terms carefully before participating in the Promotion.

“We” or “us” means Digicel (Guyana) Limited, a company registered under the laws of Guyana with registered offices at 56 High Street, Kingston, Georgetown, Guyana. References to “we”, “our” and “us” in these Terms also includes our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) from time to time.

“I” or “you” means the person participating in the Promotion (and “my” and “your” shall have the same meaning).

By participating in the Promotion, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to or accept any of these Terms, or if you are under the age of eighteen (18), you should not participate in the Promotion.

1. What is the “10 MILLIONAIRES FOR CHRISTMAS” Promotion?

 

The Promotion allows prepaid customers who top up with GYD$1000 or more to gain entries between November 18, 2024 to December 22, 2024 (the “Promotional Period”) for a chance to win One Million Dollars, with 2 winners selected each week. This means a total of 10 winners of One Million Dollars each by the end of the 5-week period.

 

2. How does the Promotion work?

Follow these steps to participate in the promotion:

Step 1: Recharge with $1000 or above (via Top Up cards or any electronic top-up including Diaspora top up).

Step 2: For each $1000 or above top-up you will be automatically entered for a chance to win 1 Million Dollars. There will be 2 winners weekly.

 

3. When does the Promotion start and end?

The promotion is valid from November 18, 2024, through to December 22, 2024

 

4. How will I know if I have entered the Promotion

You will receive the below SMS once you have successfully topped up with $1000 or more.

“You’ve earned XX entries into the draw to win 1 Million Dollars! Text WIN to 1441 to check your entries this week.”

Please note that SMS will take between 5 to 10 minutes to notify you of your entry.

 

 

5. Can I take part in the Promotion?

All prepaid Digicel customers who top up with $1000 or more may participate in the Promotion.

 

Exclusions

The following persons cannot participate in the Promotion:

a. Any person who, at any time on or after October 1, 2024, was or is a director, officer, employee, or agent of Digicel (Guyana) Limited or any of their respective parents, subsidiaries, divisions, or affiliated companies, franchisees or service agencies, independent contractors or suppliers of services to Digicel (Guyana) Limited.

b. Any person who is not a legal resident of Guyana; and

c. Any person under the age of 18.

 

6. How do I Know If I have won?

 

If you are selected as a winner, a representative from the Digicel Marketing team will contact you via telephone call. This video will be shared on Digicel Guyana Facebook page and broadcast on NCN CH11.

 

7. How many winners will there be?

 

There will be 10 winners in total. 2 winners will be selected weekly for 5 weeks.

 

8. Will I be notified when to participate?

 

Yes. Digicel Guyana Limited will send the “10 MILLIONAIRES FOR CHRISTMAS” participation prompts via SMS to prepaid customers 3 times weekly. Posts will also be made via the Digicel Guyana social media Pages weekly as well as radio station and television advertisements daily during the promotional period. Please note you can participate any time during the promotional period.

 

9. When will the winners be announced?

The 2 weekly winners will be announced on the following days:

Week 1: 25th Nov

Week 2: 2nd Dec

Week 3: 9th Dec

Week 4: 16th Dec

Week 5: 23rd Dec

 

10. How will the winners be selected?

Winners will be randomly selected with a randomizer using an Oracle Database random function to select 2 eligible winners weekly during the qualifying period.

 

11. How long is my entry valid for?

Entries are valid for the same qualifying period the recharge was done. Entries are purged at the end of each qualifying period, and you will need to recharge $1000 or more to gain entries in new qualifying periods.

 

12. Can I win multiple times?

Yes, you can win multiple times. Once you make a top up of $1000 or more within a particular draw period you will be entered to win the prize in that period.

 

13. Which are the qualifying periods?

Qualifying periods are below.

 

Week 1: Nov 18th to 24th

Week 2: Nov 25th to Dec 1st

Week 3: Dec 2nd to Dec 8th

Week 4: Dec 9th to Dec 15th

Week 5: Dec 16th to Dec 22nd

 

14. What do I need to know about collecting my prize if I win?

 

(a) Once you have been contacted, you will have up to fourteen (14) days to claim your prize at the Digicel office located at 56 High Street, Kingston, Georgetown. If not, your prize will be forfeited.

 

(b) To collect your prize you must present valid proof of identification (National ID Card, Driver’s License or Passport), which clearly indicates your age and that you are a legal resident of Guyana.

 

(c) You will aslo be required to present the winnning phone and SIM at the time of visiting Digicel to claim the prize.

 

(d) You agree that if you win any prize from the promotion, you will permit photographs of you to be taken and for your image, likeness and name (your “Likeness”) to be used for public relations and marketing purposes free of cost, including the publishing of your Likeness on social media, mainstream media, and other platforms that we may choose.

 

(e) If you are unable to visit the office to claim your prize, you may send a representative with your winning SIM and phone on your behalf with appropriate identification for you as well as that representative along with a signed letter by you authorizing the collection and a copy of your ID.

 

(f) Once you have presented to the Digicel Office for claiming of your prize you will be provided with further instructions in order to have the payment made to to the winner’s bank account.

 

15. What if I’m a winner and I miss the call from the live radio drawing?

If we are unable to reach a winner, we will select another random eligible number. This process will continue until contact is made. Each number will be called twice, and if both calls are missed, the prize will be forfeited.

 

Additional Terms and Conditions

A. This Promotion is offered for your personal use and not for commercial use and you agree not to sell any rewards redeemed through this Promotion.

 

B. We reserve the right to disqualify you or terminate this offer if, in our opinion, the Promotion is being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to selling or attempts to sell the prizes, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of our services.

 

C. You are solely responsible for all associated fees and costs incurred by you for redemption of the prize and for connectivity and data usage in relation to your use. Be reminded that once roaming, you will be able participate in this promotion.

 

D. The selected winners must have complied with these Terms and Conditions to enter and be on an active, qualifying contract with no accounts held with Digicel being in arrears to be eligible to win the prizes.

 

E. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily), this Promotion being offered to you upon consultation and approval of the relevant authorities.

 

F. If a prize is unavailable, we may, in our discretion, substitute the prize with an alternative prize to the equal value and/or specification with the approval of the relevant authorities.

 

G. We reserve the right to, at any time, with or without notice, vary or cancel the terms and conditions of this Promotion upon consultation and approval of the relevant authorities. In the event of us giving notice to you of any such changes to or cancellation of the Promotion, it shall suffice for us to give you notice via messages to your handset/device or to post such notification on the Digicel website or the App. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notifications.

 

H. Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely for the purposes of this promotion by Digicel and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion on behalf of the Digicel and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose without the individual’s prior consent. By entering this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data by Digicel and/or any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion for the purposes of administration of the promotion (including publishing your full name and county and/or disclosing it to third parties on request if you are the winner) and any other purposes to which you have consented. I. Winners may be required to take part in related publicity, including (without limitation) publication of the name and image of a promotion winner along with their winning entry via Digicel’s website, social media and other press and media channels. No additional payment will be given for this.

J. In addition to these Terms and Conditions, you remain bound by our My Digicel App Terms and Conditions of Use.
