A highly regarded global media, technology, and financial services executive, Tarek is known for his transformational strategic leadership roles in telecom and technology leaders across four continents.

From August 2018 to September 2023, Tarek served as CFO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company with the company increasing its gross margins, operating profit margin and free cash flow and completing a number of key acquisitions during his tenure. Prior to that, he spent two and a half years as CFO at Sprint Corporation leading the company’s turnaround efforts.

He  previously served as the CEO of the high-growth diversified Australian financial services company Flexigroup, Group Managing Director of Telstra International Group, the International Division of Australian telecommunications leader Telstra Corporation and as the CEO of Telstra’s Hong Kong-based subsidiary CSL Limited. He also held leadership positions at Orange Plc, Atradius, Lehman Brothers and Arthur Andersen (now Accenture).

He holds an MBA from the London Business School, a Master of Science in Business Administration from Institut d’Administration des Entreprises, Caen, France and a Master of Science in Nuclear Physics and Electronics from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs, Caen, France.
