Rajeev Suri's appointment as Chairman of Digicel Group brings a track record of transformative execution to the company. Rajeev is well positioned to drive Digicel's growth and innovation. His proven track record in leading companies through periods of significant change, combined with his global perspective and deep understanding of the digital landscape, will be instrumental in steering Digicel towards new opportunities and successes in an increasingly connected world. 

Rajeev Suri is a distinguished figure in the global telecommunications landscape. His tenure as CEO of Inmarsat from March 2021 to May 2023 was marked by its best financial performance in over a decade and a strategic exit through the acquisition by Viasat, benefiting the company's private equity and pension fund shareholders.  

Suri's extensive experience in the industry is underscored by his bold leadership at Nokia, where he was CEO from 2014 to 2020. He joined Nokia in 1995, rising to become CEO of Nokia Siemens Networks in 2009, until 2014. Under his guidance, Nokia underwent significant growth and change, marked by key acquisitions including the networks businesses of Siemens, Motorola, Alcatel-Lucent, and the renowned Bell Labs, as well as major expansions into enterprise, software and IP licensing. Suri's strategic vision and turnaround execution repositioned Nokia, leading to Nokia's prominence as a comprehensive telecom infrastructure provider. 

Beyond his corporate roles, Suri has made notable contributions to the broader tech and telecom sectors. He served as Chair of the Global Satellite Operators Association and Commissioner of the United Nations Broadband Commission. His role as Co-Chair of the digitalisation task force for the B20 and participation in various digital and healthcare committees at the World Economic Forum highlight his influence in shaping global digital strategy. 

Recognised for his business acumen, Suri was a member of the Chinese Premier’s Global CEO Council from 2014 to 2020 and received the prestigious Marco Polo award from the Chinese government. He currently serves as a Board Director for Stryker, Singtel, and Viasat. 

Suri is also a keen investor in the tech startup ecosystem which reflects a deep commitment to nurturing innovation and venturing into diverse technology domains. 

Rajeev holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communications and an honorary doctorate from Manipal University. His personal life is anchored in London, where he lives with his wife, Nina, a tech entrepreneur, and their two sons. His international living and working experience in multiple countries contributes significantly to his broad perspective in leading multinational corporations across diverse cultures and markets.
