Jarleth Burke has been the Digicel Group General Counsel since December 2021. He has 30 years’ experience working as a lawyer in network industries, including telecommunications, electricity, and aviation.

Previously, Jarleth has served in senior regulatory roles in government and private practice and was formerly the partner in charge of the Government Relations Practice in the London office of Jones Day. He has advised telecommunications operators and technology businesses across the world, including Apple, Airbus, Panasonic Avionics, and BF Goodrich. He has acted for clients on matters before regulatory and anti-trust agencies of the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Ireland. Jarleth has also appeared for clients on complex telecommunications, aviation, and electricity matters before national and international courts.

Jarleth is responsible for all legal aspects of the businesses of the Digicel Group including financing, licensing, IP, M&A strategy, economic regulation, data protection, and sectoral rule compliance.

Jarleth is a barrister admitted to practice in the British Virgin Islands, England and Wales, and Ireland. He holds a PhD on the regulation of market failure from the London School of Economics and is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School. Jarleth also holds Masters’ Degrees in European Law and in the History of Science from University College Dublin and the University of London, respectively. In addition, he is an extra mural fellow of the Tilburg Centre for Law and Economics in the Netherlands.
