Terms and Conditions

The “Win With Digicel x Barbados Public Workers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited (BPWCCUL) Back-To-School Campaign” (the “Promotion”) Frequently asked Questions (“FAQ”) and Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and govern your participation in the Promotion for chances to win certain prizes in the Win With Digicel x BPWCCUL Back-To-School Campaign.

 

“We” or “us” means Digicel (Barbados) Limited, a company registered under the laws of Barbados with registered offices 2nd Floor, William Tower, William Industries Complex, Warrens, St. Michael.

 

References to “we”, “our” and “us” in these Terms also includes our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) from time to time.

“I” or “You” means the person participating in the Promotion (and “my” and “your” shall have the same 
meaning).

By participating in the Promotion, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to or accept any of these Terms or are below the age of 18 years, you should stop participating in the Promotion immediately.

 

1. What is the Win with Digicel x BPWCCUL Back-to-School Campaign?
The Win with Digicel x BPWCCUL Back-to-School Campaign is a promotion that offers customers a chance to win a Savings Account with a starting balance of $500 with The Barbados Public Worker Cooperative Credit Union when the Youth Plan is added as an additional line to the Hastings Flex and Bridgetown Plus Postpaid Plans. 

2. Who is eligible to participate?
This campaign is open to new customers and existing customers who upgrade from Prepaid to the indicated Postpaid Plans. 

3. How do I participate?
To participate in the campaign, customers must sign up for the Hastings Flex Postpaid ($125 during the promotional period) or Bridgetown Plus ($170 during the promotional period) Plan before September 30, 2024. 

4. How are winners selected?
The winner will be chosen through a random draw from all eligible entries received during the promotion period. The draw will be conducted in accordance with these terms and conditions of the promotion and will take place LIVE on radio via the station HITZ 106.7FM

5. Is there a cost to participate?
Yes. A valid participant entry is determined when customers sign up for the Hastings Flex Postpaid Plan valued at $125 during the promotional period or the Hastings Plus Postpaid Plan valued at $170 during the promotion in addition to adding the Youth Plan valued at $70 during the promotion as a new line

 6. What kind of prizes can I win?
Six customers will win a Savings Account with an opening balance of $500 each.

7. Can I participate more than once?
No. Customers who successfully complete the signup process for the indicated plans will qualify as one entry. 

8. When will the winner be announced?
The winners will be announced on September 24th, 26th and October 1st via a telephone call on live radio. Two winners will be contacted on each day.

9. Am I allowed to enter If I am under 18 years of age?
No. People under the age of 18 are not permitted to enter. Additionally, employees of Digicel Barbados are not permitted to enter this competition. 

10. How can I collect my prize?
The winning customers will first collect an official letter of confirmation from Digicel (Barbados) which they will use as proof of their winnings. All winners will also be contacted by a representative of The Barbados Public Workers Credit Union with instructions on how to complete all documentation and additional instructions on how to claim their prizes. Customers must be prepared to provide any documentation or information needed to successfully complete the process. 

To collect the confirmation, letter the winner will be required to provide a valid government issued photo ID.

11. Can someone collect my prize on my behalf?
If you are the selected winner and you would like someone to collect your confirmation letter you should send with them a copy of an authorization letter with a copy of your ID attached. The representative will also be required to present a valid government issues ID to the Digicel Head Office in order to collect the confirmation letter on your behalf. 

12. What happens if I don’t collect my prize? 
You will be required to collect their prize within 14 days after the winner is announced. If you do not collect the prize within the stipulated time Digicel reserves the right to select another winner or 
maintain the prize for use in another promotion at a later date. 

A. This Promotion is offered for your personal use and not for commercial use and you agree not to sell any rewards redeemed through this Promotion.

B. Digicel gives no warranty or guarantee that its network or services shall be continuous or will be free from faults. Digicel will, however, use its best endeavors to ensure its network and services are reasonably fault free, and that service is reasonably uninterrupted. 

C. We reserve the right to disqualify you or terminate this offer if the Promotion is being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to selling or attempts to sell the prizes, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of our services.

D. You are solely responsible for all associated fees and costs incurred by you for redemption of prizes and for connectivity in relation to your use of text messages. Be reminded that once roaming, you will not be able to use any data from your local prepaid or select postpaid plans.

E. The selected winners must have complied with these Terms and Conditions to enter and be on an active, qualifying contract with no accounts held with Digicel being in arrears to be eligible to win the prizes.

F. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily), this Promotion being offered to you.

G. If a prize is unavailable, we may substitute the prize with an alternative prize to the equal value and/or specification where applicable.

H. Prizes (if other than cash prizes) are not exchangeable and are not redeemable for cash.

 

I. We reserve the right to, at any time, with or without notice, vary or cancel the terms and conditions of this Promotion. In the event of us giving notice to you of any such changes to or cancellation of the Promotion, it shall suffice for us to give you notice via messages to your handset/device or to post such notification on the Digicel website or the App. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notifications 

J. Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely for the purposes of this promotion by Digicel and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion on behalf of the Digicel and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose without the individual’s prior consent. By entering this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data by Digicel and/or any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion for the purposes of administration of the promotion (including publishing your full name and county and/or disclosing it to third parties on request if you are the winner) and any other purposes to which you have consented. K. Winners may be required to take part in related publicity, including (without limitation) publication of the name and image of a promotion winner along with their winning entry via Digicel’s website, social media and other press and media channels. No additional payment will be given for this. Refusal to participate will result in forfeiture of the prize
